Field Trip
Rendu and WWF(Hong Kong)will co-organize a field trip in Hong Kong to visit some coastal beach and fish market. This trip aims to learn from NGOs in Hong Kong about how practical solutions for marine littering were adopted. Meanwhile, we hope to facilitate more cooperation in public awareness building on marine waste.
During the trip, we will visit different coasts of Hong Kong, then discuss how WWF can form an alliance with other stakeholders in the region, to collaborate for beach clean-up and community forums, and how to work with marine practitioners such as yacht clubs and water sports associations through educational lectures, seminars, and recycling containers on board. Eventually it will promote the industry to sort and recycle waste and take practical actions to reduce waste.
Another focus is the fish market, during which we will introduce the initiative of reducing the foam box. This will help you understand how those commonly used foam box in fish market become part of marine debris, and how WWF has been committed to finding suitable alternatives to reduce the waste source.
